Mitzi Cardenas, a first generation daughter to Mexican immigrants, is an Associate Attorney with the Los Angeles Immigration Attorneys. Mitzi has handled hundreds of complex immigration cases ranging from cancellation of removal, asylum, waivers, VAWA, U-Visas, deferred action, consular processing, naturalization, removal of conditions, and adjustment of status cases. Before moving to California, she litigated in six different jurisdictions, including Illinois, Michigan, California, New York, Georgia and Ohio.
Mitzi has years of experience in Immigration and has dedicated her career to it. For Mitzi, immigration enforcement raises several human rights concerns. She believes that migrant rights ought to be zealously protected as fundamental individual rights. Early on, it was clear to Mitzi that a legal career would allow her to pursue a passion for human and civil rights; immigration law represented an opportunity for that advocacy. Mitzi’s strong commitment to immigrant rights make her a valued advocate for her clients and a positive team member at our firm.
Mitzi attended DePaul University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Latin American and Latino Studies. She went on to obtain her Law degree from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
Mitzi is an active member, in good standing, of the Illinois Bar Association, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and American Immigration Lawyers Association.
